Atelophobia

They say that when we pass away, all of the moments we've spent alone, and that nobody knows about... vanish into thin air. It's as if every corpse is a magician. Everything that I have ever let go of is covered with claw marks, and I'm sharpening my nails.

I will never be able to soothe the ache of memory, or dethrone the loneliness that she carries deep within her heart. Yet here we are again, finding comfort underneath the covers... two intertwined bodies hiding from the big bad world.

I've got secrets that double as weights inside of me. Every now and then they spill out of my eyes, or fingertips... but never from my mouth.

Skeletons Insist Everyones Really Alive

During our time apart my eyelids were nothing more than red curtains, draped and pulled tight to conceal the scenes playing behind this chest. Everyone else was recreation.

Truth be told, when it comes to you and me I'm never really sure if I'm supposed to be the platform, or the train that pulls away. Forever derailed by your touch.

As a kid my parents used to apologize for my shyness. Teachers prodded me to come out of my shell. Thank you for appreciating the fact that some of us carry shelter each step of the way. And thank you for always being m(y valent)ine. Tomorrow and forever.

I Still Check For Monsters

Handover my heart... so I can swear to everyone, that when they open me up they'll only find your fingerprints in the place where it once beat. I used to look at you as if you were magic. Now you're just an exit wound.

I've been searching for the words spelled out in the scars you once showed me... the ones that were too deep to share with others.

I used to think that you'd never really left... that you were just hiding deep inside of me. Little did I know that every night we spent together was our last dance.
